The Second Life Model, December 2010
Simon is clearly mesmerized by the vision of the Terasem01 Habitat and apart from my standing disagreement with him on the functionality of the solar reflective surfaces, his models are breathtaking by any standard.

*sigh*
Your current habitat is not angled towards the sun axes wise. Look at the shadows. The mirror arrays do not capture sunlight in any appreciable manner. I pointed this out before during and after construction but since you are almost as stubborn as I am, it didn’t reflect in any accurate design in the end model. No worries. Look here and shudder : http://khanneasuntzu.com/index-celestialvisions.html …. (Under Construction) –
Note that if Audrey does his job we’ll have decades or centuries to make museum-worthy versions of these habitats that precisely depict engineering perfect renditions of O Neil habitats. Also note that before and after TedX Kim spend time with our Rasputinian friend, as well as attend the after-party with him. 🙂 He’s ever so nice these days. Her chances to grow up to be centuries have recently gone up by tens of percentages. Very Anne Rice if you ask me.
Btw. did the powers that be pay you yet?

Im shuddering , I am , .. and there are three suns in this location by the bunny rabbit nebula, and the habitat is aiming at the one most constant.
Anyway , Im busy with the ice particle clouds on the heat sinks now..

Oh .. and how about the model of the earth , complete with ring of industry and habitat, held in place by the spokes of the total equatorial set of clarkian geostationary lift spokes ? Flashing lights and moving lift cells of course.. ?

Your ma’ai is way too strong for me, sensei 🙂 Three suns, why didn’t I think of that.
Yes, there are many things we can construct and have fun doing so. However, can you look at the prices and either diversify them a little, and if possible ‘go a little lower’ ? I am just teasing you a little. The end result would be to get potential clients (by and large museums?) and construct displays that ‘sell’ these values we hold dear (forcibly emigrating all the useless idiots from earth).
You keep tormenting me with talk of flashing lights. Why do you do that? Are you evil?

Evil??
He is possibly the least evil Sensei;
The sweetest, most committed and even enlightened he is! (But yea, as most Sensei, he has his wizardry and trickery. Beware)

Where is this in world?
Forcefully emigrate useless idiots huh? They are going to be more useful in the originally much more expensive per person environment of a space habitat? Or would you just go “upload them all and let the AGI sort it out”? 🙂

“..It has been said we all must become “productive members of society.” What society? A universal society? A stratified society? A personally chosen society? “No,” comes the reply from the dictators of acceptability, “the society you live within – – when in Rome…” But suppose there’s no more Rome in which to do as the Romans? Suppose Rome is no different in most ways — ways that really count — than Hong Kong, Mexico City or Los Angeles? If stratification means ghettoization, let it be. Call it insularism — whatever you wish. But let’s have different rules for different people, providing there are different environments. Regulations imposed upon the dwellers who thrive in a cesspool should not be imposed upon those who have chosen to lead a monastic life. Nor should the restrictions of a monk be imposed on those who prefer to spend their time in the drawing room. Let’s face it — most people are locusts, part of a herd. Herd behavior suits them, and they thrive on it. Through chromosomal and conditional cloning, they cannot be otherwise. The solution is a new kind of ghetto, with its regulations, restrictions, status symbols, incentives and benefits tailored to its inhabitants’ needs. Above all, however, it must not be called a “ghetto,” even though it occupies most of the land. Mongrelization has produced a very large ghetto, but ghetto it is. Space limitations withstanding, new ghettos will be space ghettos. The desirability of Outer Space migration has made it easy. The herd has been softened up to it by the media since the days of Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon. But please, don’t dampen the enthusiasm of these pioneers by the term “space ghetto.” Better to refer to it as “new frontiers.” When ghettos become the mainstream of society, islands of individuality cannot help but harbor an elite. And that earthly elite must be sanctioned at any cost.”..

And yet I agree, first up should be the hairdressers and the interior designers… test the model with expendables.
